Travelling Rings Discussions | Santa Monica, NYC, & Worldwide
Unpredictable and fast, the action of the travelling rings challenges the best sports photographers and videographers. The Santa Monica swinging crew includes a number of both. The odd pro comes by to shoot on a pretty regular basis as well. Whether a snapshot for a tourist, shots by locals, or a pro brought down to capture the action for the LA Times, tv, or movie, swingers get noticed and tracked by the lens quite often.
Stop by the beach in Santa Monica south of the pier to watch the swingers and bring your camera. Drop me a note and share what you catch. There are so many swingers, who come to swing at all hours of the day and night, that the links I have compiled here only constitute a small collection of either cool moves or talented swingers. I guarantee that if you like the shots I've compiled here you'll love coming down to visit and watch.
Keith Mukai, Michael Villegas, Paul Scott, & Eddie Avila are among the most prolific photographers. All of whom have captured amazing moves on the rings. We have a flickr group which features photos from 15 photographers. Bob Chapin produced an amazing swinging video set to P.O.D. in the summer of 2005. In 2006 Bruno Angelico came out with DVD of some of his moves, check out the trailer. Or check the featured images below.
